Bringing a Knife to a Gunfight: A man was shot by his son-in-law and later died in Lumberton. Victor Garza was pronounced deceased when law enforcement arrived on the scene of the shooting Sunday, June 29, according to Capt. Anthony Thompson with the Robeson County [NC] Sheriff's Office. The son-in-law reported Garza was trying to stab him when he shot Garza. The cause of death has not been determined. An autopsy is being performed. No arrests have been made. The woman's boyfriend and some of the woman's friends started fighting, when at least one person from each group pulled a gun and began firing, deputies said.
